Students can build a freestanding straw tower, protect an egg or water balloon, create a slow-moving ramp vehicle, or explore a simple water filter. A common design log records the plan, build, test, improvement, and retest.

An adult should prepare cut bottles and manage elevated drop tests. Keep students clear of the drop area and check allergies if using eggs. Filtered experiment water is not safe to drink. Adapt heights and materials to your setting.
